MAKE AN IMPACT & LEAVE A LEGACY

Top leaders make an impact and leave a legacy. Learn more about yourself and your people to positively influence those around you and build a winning team. Pete will walk you through understanding the essential values of a leader, how to implement vision and strategy, communicate effectively, and execute on decisions, so you can be a better leader for your sports organisation

Poor leadership is the number one reason why employees leave an organisation.  Poor leadership can lead to a negative or toxic working culture that has an impact of staff morale, satisfaction and ultimately wellbeing. In any team a high turnover of staff is far from optimal. This, coupled with reduced motivation and productivity can have a direct impact on the results that a team or organisation are achieving. In sports it is vital to build continuity and consistency to ensure winning performances.

High performance sports has had its fair share of scandals including harassment, bullying, and burnout all of which lead back to the leadership. Too often we see leaders in sports with questionable motives and big egos which can have financial and reputational consequences on the organisation.

Other times leadership issues are more subtle and can be areas like poor communication, lack of clarity around vision or strategy, micro-management, or a whole host of other easy-to-fix traits that leaders possess.

BECOME AN EFFECTIVE LEADER

In contrast good, strong, healthy leadership will motivate a workforce and has been shown to improve employee productivity. According to Gallup, organizations with high employee engagement outperform those with low engagement by 202% in terms of productivity. Effective leadership is a critical factor in driving employee engagement.

Good leadership is critical to the success and longevity of an organisation. Leaders need to be deliberate and intentional about parking their ego, developing themselves and working hard on their delivery as a leader. Good leaders turn potential into success and can transform and guide their organisation and people into a winning team.
